chantal sébire

Chantal Sébire was a retired 53-year-old French teacher who suffered from esthesioneuroblastoma, a rare and incurable form of cancer, and fought for the right to die through euthanasia.

Sébire lived in Plombières-lès-Dijon, near Dijon, France, and was the mother of three children. In 2000, she was diagnosed with esthesioneuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer of which only 200 cases have been reported in the past 20 years. In Sébire's case, the cancer had burrowed through her sinuses, nasal cavities, and eye socket, leaving her face severely disfigured. She had also lost her sense of sight, taste, and smell and suffered with severe pain that she was unable to relieve with morphine due to its side effects.

Sébire first gained recognition in February 2008 when she made a public appeal to the French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, to allow her to die through euthanasia, stating that "One would not allow an animal to go through what I have endured.". On March 17, 2008, she lost her case in a French court, with the magistrate noting that while French law does allow for the removal of life-support equipment for terminally ill patients, it does not allow a doctor to take action to end a patient's life. After the decision, Sébire said "I now know how to get my hands on what I need, and if I don't get it in France, I will get it elsewhere".

On March 19, 2008, she was found dead in her home.An autopsy conducted on March 21, 2008 concluded that she did not die of natural causes. Subsequent blood tests revealed a toxic concentration of the drug Pentobarbital, a barbituate that is not available in French pharmacies but is used elsewhere in the world for the purpose of physician assisted suicide.

Sébire's death revived the debate over euthanasia in France and elsewhere around the world.Sébire was the subject of an article in Time magazine. Her plight and subsequent death was reported in many countries.

Bryan, a former secret agent living in the US, is very reluctant to let his 17-year-old daughter Kim go on holiday to Paris with a friend; he worries about her safety. His wife thinks he is overly cautious, and Kim is allowed to go after all. In Paris a seemingly friendly young man proposes to share a taxi with them to the house where Kim and her friend are staying, and so they do. However, the man works for a criminal organisation of Albanians to which he reports the address.
In the house, while the friend is being abducted, Kim happens to have her father on the phone. He tells her to hide under a bed and to tell him as much as possible about the abductors, which she does while being pulled from under the bed. She is sold at an auction to a sheik as a sex slave.
Bryan travels to Paris and while killing many opponents, and torturing one, finally finds and rescues her.

Mcdonalds

Founded in 1940 by Dick and Mac McDonald, McDonald's is the world's largest chain of Fast Food restaurants serving
nearly 54 million customers daily. McDonalds primarily sells hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken products,

French fries, breakfast items, soft drinks, milkshakes and desserts. More
recently, it also offers salads, wraps and fruit. In most markets, McDonald's
offers salads and
vegetarian items, wraps and other localised fare. This local

deviation from the standard menu is a characteristic for which the chain is
particularly known, and one which is employed either to
abide by regional food taboos or to make available foods
with which the regional market is more familiar.

Many McDonalds restaurants have included a playground for
children and advertising geared toward children.

McDonald's has for decades maintained an extensive
advertising campaign. In addition to the usual media

(television, radio, and newspaper), the company makes significant use of
billboards and signage, sponsors sporting events from ranging from Little
League to the Olympic Games, and makes coolers of orange drink with their logo

available for local events of all kinds. Nonetheless, television has always played
a central role in the company's advertising strategy.

I like going in McDonald’s, and you do you like ? If no, why?

Bienvenue chez les ch'tis

Bienvenue chez les CH'TIS is a French motion picture

comedy starring Kad Merad, dany Boon and zoé Félix.

The film has broken box office records in France : two

weeks after its release, the film had been seen by over 5

million people.

Philippe Abrams, an office manager of La Poste at

Salon-de-Provence in the Bouches-du-Rhône does

everything to get a position on the Mediterranean

seaside. But he lies to get the job he wants and he is

eventually sent to Northern

France at Bergues near Dunkerque for 2 years. Of
course, this is a punishment.

For people who live in Southern France, Northern
France is like cold hell. The

film maker tries to go against those prejudices.
